Mind over matter

"What we're really talking about is setting aside the fourth Thursday in November when no one diets. I mean, why else would they call it Thanksgiving"
Erma Bombeck

Well, we're hitting that bottle neck of advertising that is the congestion of the holiday season.

I love this time of year.

Carbs, wine, saturated fatty deliciousness and the same carols your great-grandparents listened to on...record players (the pre-ipod era).

What's not to love about a few months of finding reasons to celebrate?

People typically flip out about blowing "diets". I think we need to reflect on this time of national "brokeness" and spend more on enjoying mindful eating.

Here is the PDF on mindful eating...

Instead of just trying a few things, a college colleague had a brilliant idea for the holidays.

Make up a second plate for tomorrow. Hang on to leftovers for no more than three days if made on Thanksgiving.

No one wants to lose weight from foodborne illness....

Thanksgiving tastes better on Black Friday anyway.
